Angel Park in Perry Hall

Here’s a really great playground not far from Annie’s Playground, north of Baltimore: Angel Park

We visited this playground back in November, but I’m posting about it now because (i) it’s been too cold for the past several weekends for us to venture out and (ii) any central Marylanders with preschool- through elementary-age kids should definitely check it out.

Like any great playground, this one features a central castle structure, though it’s more open than the one at Annie’s Playground and so better suited for small children who need parents to keep an eye on them. The playground also has a fun area for very small children adjacent to the main apparatuses, while the main area features lots of fast slides, spider webs, ladders—all the stuff kids love.

But the best feature, and one that Oliver tried about 30 times, is a super-fast zipline with a swing attached. We zoomed back and forth, back and forth—he loved it. Other kids lined up for the zipline throughout the morning (there’s a second zipline without the swing for older kids who can hang on independently).

The playground is in an ideal location, either on the property of or immediately adjacent to a county library. So, if the weather turns inclement, or you need a break from the outdoors, there’s a (free) resource just a few steps away.

Great neighborhood, too, with houses I definitely cannot afford. But we can all dream.
